Meet the Owner
Hi, I'm Jade and I'm the owner of KCPSS! I started this business in the spring of 2022 after taking on a few pet-sitting jobs on the side which lead me to make the leap and see if this was something needed in the area. So far, it turns out it was and I'm extremely thankful for all of my clients!

My love of animals started from a young age and has always been a point of interest for me my entire life (if the school library had an animal book, I was always going to check it out), following me into my education. In the fall of 2016 I started University at Dalhousie's Agricultural Campus in their new Bioveterinary Science program and graduated with that degree in 2020. While in University I focused my education in animal behaviour, nutrition, aquaculture, genetics and equine science. During the summer months I worked at the Magnetic Hill Zoo as a student employee in the Animal Care department and found my love for exotics! I have also gained extremely valuable knowledge volunteering in vet clinics and learning alongside veterinary professionals while in University.

When I'm not caring for your pets I'm usually still doing something with my own animals in my free time. I enjoy riding my horses, trick training and finding new places to hike with my dog, Jersey. I have also recently starting diving into the world of photography (specifically pets - of course!), and enjoy curling up in bed with a good book at the end of the day.

Meet the Sidekick
Jersey is the newest member of the KCPSS team and employee of the month every month! She comes with me to all of my jobs and has proven to be a very valuable addition to the team since getting her in early 2023. Jersey is very good with other dogs and engages in play (tug of war is her FAVOURITE) but is also very neutral and allows dogs their space if that's what they need. Even my oldest clients who prefer not to play anymore seem to just simply enjoy having her around. Jersey adores cats, is respectful around small animals and is very content to follow me around while I do farm chores. She will also do quite literally anything for a snack and a belly rub, she's a super loving, adjustable girl and I am very lucky to have her!
